Conclusion
Over time, morphological changes in cells when treated with Retinoic acid can be seen. These changes were observed and support the hypothesis in broad terms.
When testing the treated and untreated cell’s functional changes with conductivity we can see a large difference complementary to the hypothesis. The results collected from this experiment show that SK-N-SH cells treated with retinoic acid for a period of time have morphological and functional similarities to those of neurons. These cells differentiate into neurons with more projections, higher concentration of proteins and larger sodium spikes and action potentials. Using retinoic acid treated cell’s can help researchers come closer to finding a cure for Neuroblastoma. |
